About honing your shooting skills and stepping onto the pitch to score the hat trick that takes your club to glory... And it's about the fame... Step off the pitch and blow your money on girls, glamour, boy's toys and big nights out with the lads. Play it right and you'll have a shot at becoming the most valuable player out there. Get it wrong and you'll find yourself back in the boot room picking the mud out of someone else's studs.."

However, we think it's far more than that. Its like 'Championship Manager' without all the silly over complicated aspects, like 'Dream Team' without all the over exaggerated storylines, and its like real life, but without needing the talent. Essentially, 'I AM PLAYR' has made the brilliantly simple step into social networks by becoming the first ever point of view (POV) social football game, playable through your Facebook page. It has some brilliant storylines, difficult choices and awesome cameo appearances that all added together under the brilliant writing ability of former 'Dream Team' scriptwriter Lewis Georgeson and Lauren Davies and developed initially by co-founder of We R Interactive David Rose, who was one of the driving forces behind the 'Championship Manager' franchise, makes this game the future of social gaming.

Teddy Sheringham, Andy Townsend, Aaron Lennon, Theo Walcott and Lee Dixon are all in for cameos, to name but a few, with more set to be added to the ever increasing storyline. The calibre of these stars shows the driving force behind the game and the open endedness of its design is part of it's brilliance. With it being on Facebook and therefore an online game, there is no need to install updates, or restart the game, as the developers change it for you and they are adding new aspects all of the time. 

We are still waiting for the 'Fame' and 'Lifestyle' tabs to become active, but can't wait for when they do, the same goes for the 'Crossbar Challenge' section of training! More cuts scenes are needed, and more in depth text on the vidiprinter is set to be released soon, which will take the game up to the next level.

'I AM PLAYR' is a horrendously addictive game that will have you counting down those 10 hour rest gaps after game day it forces upon you (to give a sense of reality - and to stop you playing through it too quickly) and it will force you to genuinely consider each choice you make in the game, as these choices can either lead to end of season promotion to the promised land of the premier league or leave you and River Park FC scrapping in the depths of a relegation battle.

  Promotion: Make the right choices and this will be your end of season.

Relegation: Make the wrong choices and this will be your demise.

Overall, we cant stop playing this game here at Popfodder HQ and we think anyone out there that loves their footy and loves wasting hours on Facebook (if that's not everyone!?) will do the same. So far we have played 11, won 6, drawn 2 and lost 3, scoring 10 goals in the process, being fined a weeks wages for being too hungover to train and been awestruck by meeting Aaron Lennon in Nike Town London. Play it, love it, obsess over it. We have.
